Baby Take a Bow is a musical comedy film made in 1934 and starring Shirley Temple, James Dunn, and Claire Trevor. It was based on the play Square Crooks by James P. Judge.
Ex-convict Eddie Ellison (James Dunn) tries to make an honest living to support his wife Kay (Claire Trevor) and daughter Shirley (Shirley Temple) by working as a chauffeur. But when Eddie's employer has a pearl necklace stolen, Ellison and his best friend Larry Scott (Ray Walker), also an ex-con, find themselves as the prime suspects. Detective Welch (Alan Dinehart) has a mindset that "once a crook always a crook". When Shirley comes upon the pearls, she decides to play a game of hide-and-go-seek with her daddy while Welch is searching the apartment.
