Plot
Kit (Day) and Anthony Preston (Harrison) never had a real honeymoon and the midnight lace pajamas are for when they can finally get out of London. Anthony's business is very pressing these days. Kit is frightened one day in a London fog by a very peculiar voice from behind a statue. Next the threatening telephone calls start.
Kit becomes steadily more terrified. She enlists the aid of her husband,the police and even her favorite aunt, but increasingly each of them begins to wonder if Kit, feeling neglected, has an overactive imagination or is deliberately making up the entire story. Suspects include a new man on the block, an architect (Gavin) of a building going up next to the Prestons' apartment, and an unpleasant man (McDowall) in need of money.

The movie also stars Myrna Loy (Aunt Bea), Herbert Marshall, Natasha Parry, Hermione Baddeley, John Williams (policeman), Richard Ney, Anthony Dawson, Rhys Williams, Richard Lupino, Hayden Rorke & Doris Lloyd.
Awards
Doris Day was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama. Designer Irene was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design, Color.
