老普林尼
加伊乌斯·普林尼·塞坤杜斯（Gaius Plinius Secundus，23年－79年），常称为老普林尼或大普林尼，古罗马作家、科学家，以《自然史》[1]（Naturalis Historia）一书留名后世。
老普林尼是罗马骑士与元老院议员加伊乌斯·凯奇利乌斯的女儿的儿子。他出生在科摩，而非讹传的维罗纳。老普林尼在观察维苏威火山喷发时，吸进毒性火山气体而殉职。
